There are tons and tons of available resources of lightroom presets around the web. Joining Facebook groups and websites, you can get Lightroom presets for free that are made by individuals. There are cinematic, colorful, b&w, light, and a lot more types of preset you can download. Now, after downloading your preset (.lrtemplate format) files, how do you apply them to Adobe Lightroom? Today, I will share you how to install lightroom presets in 8 simple steps!

How to Install Lightroom Presets on MAC

  1. Open Lightroom
  2. Go To: Lightroom (Dialogue) > Preferences > Presets
  3. Click On The Box Titled: Show Lightroom Presets Folder
  4. Double Click on Lightroom
  5. Double Click on Develop Presets
  6. Copy the Folder of your Presets Into Develop Presets
  7. Restart Lightroom
  8. Your presets will now be available to use under the “Develop” area.

How to Install Lightroom Presets on PC

  1. Open Lightroom
  2. Go To: Edit > Preferences > Presets
  3. Click On The Box Titled: Show Lightroom Presets Folder
  4. Double Click on Lightroom
  5. Double Click on Develop Presets
  6. Copy the Folder of your Presets Zip Into Develop Presets
  7. Restart Lightroom
  8. Your presets will now be available to use under the “Develop” area.

Some tips when using lightroom presets:

  • Make sure to use a preset that will suit your photos.
  • Some presets may not work as you want to some of your photos so adjust the basic light settings to get the look you want to achieve.
  • Presets will be better on photos with good lighting.
  • Do not over edit your photos.
